Rhinelander gelding · *2017
This impressive 7-year-old black Rhinelander gelding is characterized by his extremely ground-covering and elastic gaits. Equipped with a walk that could hardly be better, an elastic and energetic trot, and a ground-covering uphill canter, he impresses at every show.
Freiherr von Otterndorf was gently broken in as a 4-year-old and patiently prepared for competition. In the following show season, he was immediately victorious in his second Dressurpferde A competition. During the 2023 show season, he was consistently highly placed. In 2024, Freiherr von Otterndorf won his first Dressurpferde M class in Wiesbaden.
He descends from Frascino, who himself is successful in the advanced class. On his dam's side, Freiherr descends from Quasar de Charry, who was also successful in the advanced (S) level.

After your vet's go-ahead we schedule an on-site visit. You meet Freiherr von Otterndorf in the stable, in hand and under saddle.

If you wish to proceed, you commission a vet of your choice to perform a clinical pre-purchase exam — and any further imaging or tests.

What buyers want to know
How does a test ride work when purchasing a dressage horse?
On-site in Börrstadt. First a horse inspection and presentation in hand on our riding arena, then a training ride by our rider, followed by a test ride by you. Plan for about one to two hours.
How does a pre-purchase veterinary examination work for a dressage horse?
You engage a veterinarian of your choice to conduct the clinical examination — typical are evaluation at rest and in motion, flexion tests, and if desired, additional imaging (x-rays, ultrasound).
What do the classes E, A, L, M, S mean in dressage training?
The German performance level progression describes progressive levels of requirement: E (Elementary) and A (Novice) form the basic training, L (Light) introduces first collected movements, M (Medium) demands flying changes, half-passes and early collection, S (Advanced) extends to Grand Prix. Freiherr von Otterndorf is currently presented at Dressurpferde S level.
