Standard practice is a complete preliminary examination with X-rays of the front and hind legs (in particular hoof region, navicular bone, hock and stifle) as well as additionally neck, spine and back — especially for the sport horse, the complete area is worthwhile. What matters is that the images are current and can be assessed by your own veterinarian. For Zaphiro SL, this complete set from 11/2025 is available and provided on request in JPEG and DICOM format.

On-site in Börrstadt. First, horse inspection and presentation in-hand on our riding arena, then a training ride by our trainer, followed by a trial ride by you. Plan for about one to two hours.

You commission a veterinarian of your choice with the clinical examination — standard practice includes assessment at rest and in motion, flexion tests, and if desired, supplementary imaging (X-rays, ultrasound). For Zaphiro SL, you and your veterinarian will receive the complete X-ray set from 11/2025 in advance for review — so you can already make an informed assessment before the actual examination and decide which additional tests make sense for you.

Zaphiro SL was gently backed in 2024 and has since been worked at M level (Medium class — flying changes, half-passes, beginning collection) by an internationally successful Grand Prix rider.

The German performance level progression describes progressively demanding requirements: E (Entry) and A (Novice) form the basic training, L (Light) introduces the first collected movements, M (Medium) requires flying changes, half-passes and beginning collection, S (Advanced) extends through Grand Prix. Zaphiro SL is currently being worked at M level — a solid foundation for riders aiming toward S or Grand Prix.

No. In the current market situation, this is not economically worthwhile for us, as the extra effort is not sufficiently valued financially.

Zaphiro SL has been ridden regularly since 2024 and shows no health limitations in our observation. Otherwise, we would not have been able to train him through to M level. Every veterinarian assesses a horse differently, so we share all information available to us, particularly X-rays, with serious interested buyers for assessment by their trusted veterinarian.

Zaphiro SL has an even, attentive temperament. He has sufficient nerve to be ridden with fine aids and sufficient concentration to work well with his rider. In handling, Zaphiro SL is well-behaved and uncomplicated with us.

No. Zaphiro SL is a young, friendly and social sport horse who requires a certain amount of guidance from his rider under saddle. Beginners should generally seek continuous support from an experienced trainer when acquiring a young sport horse.

Zaphiro SL has been completely unproblematic in these areas as well. He goes barefoot or with front shoes. For trailer transports, he has been easy to handle so far.

Not with us. We place great value on a 'sheltered' yet realistic upbringing, conflict-free backing as well as individual, age-appropriate development of the horse — following the motto: foster and challenge.

All our horses eventually come up for sale. We acquire promising young dressage horses at foal age, raise them thoughtfully, train them, and then sell them to riders who appreciate our philosophy and our horses.
